Board MEMBER responsibilities
The Commissioner/Director shall be responsible for: 1. Convening meetings of the Executive Board as per the bylaws; 2. Liaising with all teams officers on matters of governance, game schedules, rules and regulations, administration, and all matters pertinent to the functioning of a collegiate rugby club; 3. Setting the agenda for the Annual General Meeting and facilitating this event; 4. Liaising with the officiating bodies i.e. referee societies; 5. Liaising with the organizing body be it USA Rugby or national Collegiate Rugby or both; 6. Ensuring that elections take oplace to formthe Executive Board.
The Commissioner may serve other roles as deemed appropriate to the running of the organization.
Men’s & Women’s Teams Representatives shall be responsible for assisting the Commissioner relative to the administration of the Conference with their specified area (Men’s Teams or Women’s Teams). This shall include but not be limited to: 1. Working with the All-Conference Coordinator on nominations and selections for honors; 2. Serving on the Disciplinary Committee if there is not a conflict of interest; 3. Ensuring that teams are eligible and registered with NCR (players and teams); 4. Attending Executive Board Meetings and providing insight on the state of teams (roster size, coaching staffs, school support).
The Treasurer shall be responsible for: 1. Collection of dues from all teams in a timely manner at the start of the academic year for the same period; 2. Payments of invoices eg: website annual hosting fee, web updates, referee playoff payments and annual dues.
The Coach & Player Development Officer is responsible for 1. Ensuring that all teams have a certified coach; 2. Setting up coaching courses for both coaches and players; 3. Bringing in well qualified, established, and innovative coaches to help players and coaches; 4. Setting up a Front Row and Contact coaching clinic at the start of each Fall Season.
The Referee Liaison Officer is responsible for : 1. Trying to get teams to have 1 or 2 players a year become certified referees; 2. Liaising with the Referee Societies to ensure they have accurate contact information for each club/team; 3. Encouraging teams to provide constructive feedback/evaluations to the referee society on standards of game officiating; 4. Communicating the decisions of the Disciplinary Committee to the referee societies.
The Website Specialist individual is responsible for regular and timely updates to the website and general maintenance as it pertains to the appearance and accuracy of the site and it’s content.
The All-Conference Coordinator is responsible for communicating nomination instructions for the All-Conference Teams and compiling the results.
All of the above are expected to attend Executive Board Meetings.
