TRI-STATE CONFERENCE FALL 2025 SCHEDULES & PLAYOFF BRACKETS RELEASED
The Fall of 2025 may seem a long way off but the Tri-State Conference has published the team schedules and conference playoff brackets (click on the links below for all the details).
On the men’s side all the teams will play each other in Division III and there will be a separate Developmental Division, for those programs that are still building their roster numbers after the Covid-19 pandemic.
In Fall 2024 the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) were Conference Champions and Hofstra University the runner-up. Those teams will be joined by the other 2 semifinalists Montclair State University and Vassar College as well as SUNY-New Paltz, SUNY-Maritime College, Seton Hall University and the Fairfield University Developmental XV. The Developmental Division will include Drew University, Molloy College, Bard College, SUNY-Oneonta and hopefully Union College.
The Tri-State Women’s Divisions will be tiered as has been the norm over the years with 11 teams in Division II divided into a tier 1 of 5 teams and a tier 2 of 6 teams. The remaining 5 teams will from the Division III group.
Division II will no doubt be as competitive as ever with Vassar College, Fairfield University, Marist University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute leading the way in the North (Tier 1) and they will be joined by Fordha University who are keen to get both A and B-side games. Strong challenges are to be expected from Columbia University, Montclair State University, Rutgers University, Stony Brook University, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and newcomers Siena College all in the South Division (Tier 2). The Division III teams are Molloy College, Hofstra University, SUNY-New Paltz, Drew University and USMMA. (USMMA is a new team that will need to recruit heavily to participate fully.)
The Conference Playoff seedings are allocated in accordance with strength of schedule. The North gets seeds 1,2,3 & 4 and the South 5,6,7 & 8. However, at the AGM, Fairfield University proposed an all conference participation event so that teams could keep playing even if they lost their first round playoff games. So the Conference has put together 4 competitions for the Conference postseason and all the teams will play right the way through to Saturday November 8th, 2025. The intention is to have a Finals Day with all teams playing at the same venue if possible.
The Fall 2025 Schedules and the Playoff Brackets for this exciting proposal are shown below:
N.B. The Women’s Division III group are hopeful that Hofstra University can participate in the Fall and that USMMA will manage to get a squad large enough for a 15s team. In the event that neither of these teams is functional the B-sides of other teams may have to fill those open games.
